America's Vanished Versailles



"Built by Beaux-Arts architect Horace Trumbauer between 1916 and 1921, the neo-Georgian mansion consisted of 6 stories (3 of which were partly or fully underground), 147 rooms, 45 bathrooms, 100,000 square feet (9,300 m2), and specialty rooms including a ballroom, gymnasium, movie theatre, and even a refrigerating plant."

Updown Court - Windlesham, Surrey, England


I'm not exactly sure what I think about the overall layout and design of this residence, but it sure is huge! 

"Updown Court has 103 rooms, of which 24 are bedrooms, each with its own marble en-suite bathroom. Among other features, it has a two-lane bowling alley, five swimming pools, a squash court, a floodlit tennis court, a wine cellar, and a panic room in case of a terrorist attack."
